What's the hip, in style baby wearing this year? There are plenty of great fashion picks from the crib to the stroller for babies this year.

Retro Fashion. From Ramones t-shirts to Rubic's Cube onesies, the look of yesteryear is in this year for the next generation. Anything with designs from the 1950's, 60's, 70's and 80's is in style.

Seuss and The Street. Actually these two never really go out of style. Anything with Dr. Seuss is sure to conjure up smiles from envious passers-by--the Green Eggs and Ham onesie is another favorite of mine. Also remember Seseme Street characters, which in recent years have received a hip fashion-statement update. Cookie Monster and Elmo are always head-turners. The immortal Ernie and Bert an also be found on many under-two-year ensembles.

Chocolate All Over. Brown is the new black and babies are wearing it too. Orange, lime, green, yellow and blue are great accent colors to wear with brown pants or a solid brown shirt. Chocolate is also in for children's shoes and T-shirts.

Loose is Hip. That baggy urban look? You guessed it! Baby is just as urban-cool wearing clothes a little big this year. Choose shirts one size larger and layer with a T-shirt. Baggy pants are also available just about everywhere. The great thing about this stylish look is that your baby can wear some clothes loose now and grow into them later on.

Casual is King. The dressed-up look is just not cutting it this year in baby-land. Fun hats, solid and printed shirts, jeans or capri pants and sneakers are in. Layering with a shirt or sweater works well. Two-layer T-shirts are also practical--when baby makes a spill during lunch, just take off the stained layer.

The Plaid Fad. Great plaid shirts and plants are in, as are retro flower prints--especially the psychadelic bright florals from the 1960s. For boys, plaid pants with solid tops look great (and have the added advantage of hiding stains).
